TEXT TIDY
Contact
Text Tidy is maintained by one developer, and email goes straight to that person. Bug reports and corrections are read and acted on; the more precisely you describe the problem, the faster it can be fixed.
Where to write
Email citysoulsound@gmail.com. This address reaches the person who writes and maintains the site, so there is no support queue and no first-line script to get past.
What to include
- The page address — the full URL, including the part after the domain if there is one.
- Which action or button you used, by its label as it appears on the page.
- A short sample of input that reproduces the problem, using made-up text rather than anything confidential.
- What you expected and what you got instead.
- Your browser and version, and whether you are on desktop or mobile.
What not to send
Please do not send the private text you were processing. A two-line example that shows the problem is enough, and it is worth inventing one rather than redacting a real one — redactions often remove the character that caused the issue. Do not send passwords, credentials, medical details or anything else confidential.
Corrections to the guides
If a guide describes behavior that does not match what the tool actually does, that is a defect worth reporting. Include the guide name, the sentence that is wrong and the input that demonstrates it. Corrections that make the documentation match the code are treated as bugs, not as suggestions.
What cannot be helped with
- Document editing, rewriting, translation or proofreading — the tool performs mechanical transformations only.
- Recovery of text that was cleared from the browser. Nothing is stored on the server, so there is nothing to recover.
- Requests to add features that require uploading text to a server, since the local-only design is the point.
- Legal, medical or professional advice of any kind.
Response time
This is a single-person project maintained alongside other work, so replies are not instant. Genuine bug reports and factual corrections are prioritized over feature requests. If you have not heard back within a couple of weeks, a short follow-up is welcome rather than rude.
Privacy
Emails you send are used only to understand and respond to your report. How the site itself handles data is described in the privacy policy.
