TEXT TIDY

Privacy policy

Text Tidy is built so that the text you paste never leaves your device. This policy explains what that means in practice, what the third-party services on the page do process, and how to control it.

The short version

What stays on your device

The nine transformations, and the character, word and line counters, are implemented in JavaScript that runs in your browser. When you press a button, the code reads the input textarea, computes a result and writes it to the output textarea. No request is made to carry your text anywhere, and no copy of it is stored by this site. Closing the page or pressing Clear removes it from the editor.

The practical consequence is worth spelling out: because the text never reaches us, we cannot read it, cannot recover it, and cannot be asked to delete it. It does not exist on our side.

What is processed by third parties

Although your text is not transmitted, the page itself is served over the network and loads third-party scripts. Those scripts may process technical data such as your IP address, browser and device information, the referring page, and which pages you view. This section describes what is loaded and why.

Advertising and cookies

This site may display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. In particular:

Opting out of personalized advertising does not remove advertising; it means the ads you see are not selected on the basis of your browsing history. Where local law requires consent for advertising cookies, they are only set after you consent.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and which guides are useful. Analytics records aggregate usage such as page views, approximate location, referrer and device type. It does not receive the contents of the editor. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings.

Cookies and local storage

Text Tidy itself does not set cookies and does not write your text to local storage. The cookies you may encounter come from the third-party scripts described above. You can block or delete them at any time through your browser settings; the tool itself will continue to work, because the transformations do not depend on any stored state.

Your choices

What not to paste

The editor is local, but it is still a web page. Avoid pasting passwords, private keys, medical records, payment details or other confidential personal information into any web form, including this one. The tool does not need it, and the safest place for that kind of text is somewhere designed to hold it.

Changes to this policy

If what the site loads or how it handles data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top of the page will change. Questions about this policy can be sent to citysoulsound@gmail.com.
